Abstract Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia is considered a one of the most annoying lower urinary conditions affecting male patients above age of 50years. TURP is the gold standard in treatment of BPH for prostate less than 80 Gm. This surgery used to be associated with a significant bleeding. It becomes well known that massive tissue injury can induce shifting of the haemostatic equilibrium toward fibrinolysis, with subsequent coagulopathy and blood loss. Antifibrinolytic agents, mainly TXA, have been demonstrated to reduce blood loss and transfusion requirements in various surgeries. |
