Abstract The aim of an accurate intraocular lens power calculation is to achieve optimal visual outcomes and to provide a minor refractive error after cataract surgery so the patients expect less dependency on glasses. This study is to evaluate The Effect of Pupillary Dilatation on predicted post operative refraction (PPR) , Intra-Ocular Lens (IOL) Power and anterior chamber depth (ACD) by Using the IOL master. Forty eyes of cataract patients were included in our study (24 left eyes and 16 right eyes). The mean age of the study population was 29.05± 8.50 (range, of 15-45 years). Patients with past history of ocular trauma, ocular surgeries, corneal opacities, Ocular pathology like glaucoma, uveitis, retinal disease were excluded from this study. Our study revealed that dilatation does not affect the PPR ,IOL power and AL in SRK/T,Hoffer Q and Holladay II and we found that the ACD was significantly increased post-dilatation by (0.194 ± 0.275) for third generation and (0.132 ± 0.137) for fourth generation . |
