Introduction:
Human perception of the world depends on the information received through the senses (sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell), and the occurrence of any imbalance in any of these senses or more resulting in many difficulties, and the sense of hearing a significant role in the development of human being able to Learning the language that constitutes the cornerstone of the development of social behavior, and enables the human to understand the environment and knowledge of the risks in it and prompt them to avoid.
The sense of hearing is important for the rest of the senses and a significant impact on the growth of speech and language, and the resulting cultural and cognitive development, and increase social sense and interaction and interdependence with the rest of society.
Thus, most developed and developing countries pay great attention to the education of disabled students in order to achieve the principle of equal educational opportunities, and to provide productive capacities for the benefit of society, and therefore spread the educational institutions that care for these students, and work to give them the appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes so that he can invest his abilities and meet his basic needs to the extent that When we talk about disability, we find that there is a multiplicity and difference in the quality of disability. The disabled face the problems and difficulties of the average pupil, in addition to the problem of disability, which increases the problems of their education. Hearing loss is one of the most severe disadvantages of the human being. The hearing impaired suffer from silence, loneliness and isolation from others. The loss of language, the first means of communication in human life, makes them live in constant silence. This increases the suppression of their feelings and emotions.
This has led to the creation of many methods and methods to address these problems, which can help to acquire adaptive behavior to develop their abilities and personalities and prepare them to understand the world around them, through improving the level of social interaction by employing various educational programs, guidance and training, and the sense of hearing plays an important and key role In human development, through hearing, pupils can acquire adaptive behavior skills, especially in the early years of the pupil’s life. Thus, the progress of physical, cognitive, emotional and social development, as well as the human being to understand his environment and knowledge of the risks in it, and hearing impairment will limit the ability of the person to acquire language and speech, or learn different skills, or the exercise of natural life activities, therefore, The loss of this sense means the loss of a source of knowledge of man.
Problem of the study:
You can formulate the problem of the present research on the following questions:
1. What are the differences between the mean grades of the experimental and control groups in the adaptive behavior after applying the program?
2. What are the differences between the mean grades of pre and post scales on the adaptive behavior scale of the experimental group?
3. What are the differences between the mean scores of the telemetry and tracking scales on the adaptive behavior scale of the experimental group?
Objectives of the study:
This study aims to:
1- To reveal the effectiveness of Skinner’s procedural conditioning methods in improving the adaptive behavior of hearing-impaired pupils, using multiple techniques and behavior modification methods as one of the most effective therapeutic approaches in giving hearing-impaired pupils positive ways to achieve adaptive behavior with oneself and others and thus reduce the effects. Consequences of reducing adaptive behavior.
2- Identify the continuity of the effectiveness of the training program in improving the adaptive behavior of hearing-impaired students through tracking measurement after two months of telemetry, in order to reach scientific and practical recommendations to the responsible authorities to help them understand the nature of hearing-impaired students and their special needs. It also helps educators of these students to plan and develop the necessary services to achieve their needs.
The importance of the study: -
The importance of the present study:
A- Theoretical significance:
1 - The importance of the study stems from the type of problem it is exposed to where it deals with adaptive behavior and hearing impairment.
2 - scarcity of studies conducted on students with hearing impairment and dealing with adaptive behavior at the local level - within the limits of informing the researcher.
3 - The researcher reviews in her study some of the Arab and foreign researches and studies that deal with the problems of students with hearing impairment, including the problem of adaptive behavior - for example, but not limited - to achieve the growth and accumulation of science.
B - Applied importance:
1 - The importance of the study can be due to the provision of training programs designed to contribute to improve the adaptive behavior of students with hearing impairment through the presentation of the psychological heritage of disability as a whole, including previous studies that illustrate the training strategies used.
2 - Design a psychometric tool that contributes to more accurate identification and better understanding of adaptive behavior skills.
3 - Involve parents in the implementation of some of the sessions of the program through guidance and training on methods to improve adaptive behavior.
Study Assumptions:
1. There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups on the adaptive behavior scale in favor of the experimental group.
2. There are statistically significant differences between the mean grades of pre and post measurements on the adaptive behavior scale of the experimental group in favor of telemetry.
3. There are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the telemetry scores and the tracking on the adaptive behavior scale of the experimental group.
Study Limitations:
The present study is determined by the following parameters:
1- Methodological determinants, including:
A- Study Methodology
The present study relied on the experimental method to verify the effectiveness of a program using Skinner’s procedural conditional methods (as an independent variable) to improve adaptive behavior (as a dependent variable) in hearing impaired students.
B- Sample of the study:
The sample of the study consisted of (20) pupils with hearing impairment, aged between 9-12 years with an average age of (10.95) years, and a standard deviation of (0.87), their hearing ranges between (25-40) dB, and suffer from obvious deficiencies In adaptive behavior.
C. Study Tools:
1) Adaptive Behavior Scale (Prepared by: Researcher).
2) The training program using the methods of procedural conditions by Skinner (prepared by the researcher).
2. Spatial determinants:
The current study tools were applied at Al Amal Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Beni Suef City.
3. Spatial determinants:
The current study tools were applied in the 2018-2019 academic year.
Results of the study:
The results of the present study resulted in statistically significant differences at (0.01) between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups on the scale of adaptive behavior, and its dimensions in the telemetry for the benefit of the experimental group. Experimental on the adaptive behavior scale and its dimensions in the pre and post measurements in favor of telemetry.
