Abstract The presence of pharmaceutical residual in wastewater has been a concern for years to many countries because of the difficulty of detecting and removing them. The removal process can be performed by physical and chemical methods but new studies supported the use of microorganisms to biodegrade pharmaceuticals, among them was paracetamol. The present study shows the isolation of local bacterium Stenotrophomonas pavanii and its ability to degrade paracetamol. The results obtained. |
