Abstract TheEgyptian urbanism lacks an environmental assessment tool similar to the Green Pyramid System at Level of Buildings in Egypt, where the Green Pyramid Systemdid not address the urban scale and therefore, there is not yet any tool that can achieve the environmental sustainability of Egyptian cities, and accordingly, this research attempts to devise a system that can be called the Green Octagon, as an effective model in assessing the urban environment in Egypt, based on the concept of a Free Urban Environment in Egypt;which is a proposed concept extracted from the Quality of Life Index as well as the Risk Management Strategy,evaluating the factors identified in the proposed concept in order to assess the environmental sustainability of coastal cities in Egypt and provide the appropriate response for them as an invitation for more cities on the path of environmental sustainability in Egypt. |
