Abstract This study was designed to investigate the strategic human resource planning in hospitality industry and explore how to apply strategic human resource planning process in five star Cairo hotels and its impact of on employee performance. The field study were conducted in order to examine the study’s objectives. The researcher sets the following objectives to achieve the aim of the study: - Exploring the implementation strategic planning for human resources in hotels. - Evaluating the effectiveness of implementation strategic planning for human resources in hotels. In order to attain the objectives of the study, a questionnaire form was developed and distributed on a random sample of hotel employees in all investigated hotels. A number of 420 forms were distributed and only 386 forms (91.9%) were returned and were valid to analysis. In addition to that, a questionnaire form was developed and distributed on a random sample of HR officials in all investigated hotels. A number of 100 forms were distributed and only 94 forms (94%) were returned and were valid to analysis. Recommendations. 1. Communicating with the Ministry of Planning in order to benefit from the expertise of experts in the Ministry, especially in the field of implementing strategic planning. 2. Developing plans for strategic plans to suit each department according to the characteristics of each department and the number and quality of its employees. 3.Providing training courses for human resources in all departments of the hotel from Egyptian Hotels Association (EHA) of the Ministry of Tourism. 4. Creation a job called “Planning Coordinator” to ensure the consistency of the implementation of the strategic plan and the harmony in the numbers and skills of staff in each department.5.The need for a strategic planning department to train HR managers and provide them with ideas for the implementation of the strategic plan. |
