Abstract

Helicobacter pylori is found to be one of the commonest bacterial infections affecting the stomach; causing a wide variety of gastrointestinal disorders ranging from gastritis to gastric ulcers and even cancer. H.pylori is highly prevalent throughout the world; as more than 50% of the global population were found to be infected
(Fennerty, 2005)
In Egypt, the overall prevalence of H.pylori infection and its endoscopic and microbiological characteristics are still issues of research and investigation.
The aim of this work is to optimize the plan of management of H.pylori infection and minimize its hazardous complications through understanding its current clinical presentations, endoscopic features and microbiological findings.
