Abstract

This study was carried out 2018 – 2019, Sampleswere collected from broiler breeder farm at ELQUSIA, ASSUIT.
• The capacity of the farm is 68000 Arbor Acres breed
• Each hen produced 173 fertile eggs (132 chicks) during 40 weeks of production (24-64 weeks old)
This rate of production resembles 95% of this breed standards
1. Five hundred fourty, dead in shell embryos of different ages were subjected to bacterial isolation, which revealed identification of (17) pseudomonas aeruginosa (3.1%).
2. Examination of (360) day – old chicks in which the yolk sac was not absorbed, trial for isolation of pseudomonas aeruginosa from yolk sac showed that (9) isolates were identified (2.5%).
3. In vitro sensitivity of 10 isolates showed that: Spectinomycin, Gentamycin, Spiramycin and Streptomycin were effective while Cephradine, Amoxicillin and Sulfa + Trimethoprim were less effective.
Concerning Nalidixic acid 6 isolates were resistant
and 4 were sensitive.
4. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) reveled that clindamycin inhibit growth up to 1/128 of 75% of tested isolates, while ciprofloxacin was ineffective to 80% of tested isolates and the 20% were inhibited at 1/8 concentration.
5. Pathogenicity test:
On 7-day old embryos inoculated via yolk sac lead to 100% mortality between 3rd to 6th day post inoculation.
The examination of the eggs shows: Early and latestage dead embryos, watery yolk and hemorrhages Infection to 7-day old chicks via S/C route lead todeaths of 6 chicks out of 25 by a ratio of 24%mortality started on 2nd day till 9th day postinoculation.
The dead chicks show: Unabsorbed yolk sac, enteritisand septicemia.
1. Total bacterial counts of swabs from incubators, hatcheries before and after disinfection by BioSentry 904 (Q.A.C) shows significant decrease of the bacteria after disinfection of incubators and hatcheries.
2. from this study were concluded that Pseudomonas is one of the most important bacteria which can cause mortality in the first days of age of chicks and also in the different stages of embryonic life also that the microorganism can resist a lot of antibacterial agents which is highly used in farms.
3. Applying a program of disinfection by using (Q.A.C) products in hatcheries and incubators can decrease the total bacterial count of pseudomonas by a significant way.
