Abstract This thesis focused on the preparation of two types of nanosponges, namely: ethyl-cellulose nanosponges(EC NSs)as an example of non-biodegradable nanosponges, and cross linked cyclodextrin nanosponges(CD NSs) as an example ofa biodegradable nanosponges, as a promising drug carriers that showed interesting outcomes in solving various problems encountered in drug delivery such as controlling drug release and improving drug solubility. <Drug Delivery Approach for Targeting different Periodontal Tissues and/or Skin Layers Simvastatin(SV)has been selected as an interesting candidateregarding its unusual pleotropic clinical effects, for example,wound healing and bone regeneration activities. <Studies in these fields recommended local delivery of SVto minimize its systemic side effects such as myopathy and liver problems. |
