Abstract

PE (lifelong and acquired) is a male sexual dysfunction characterized by the following: Ejaculation that always or nearly always occurs prior to or within about one minute of vaginal penetration (lifelong PE) or a clinically significant and bothersome reduction in latency time, often to about three minutes or less (acquired PE) , the inability to delay ejaculation on all or nearly all vaginal penetrations and negative personal consequences, such as distress, bother, frustration, and/or the avoidance of sexual intimacy.Premature ejaculation (PE) is likely the most prevalent type of sexual dysfunction Overall, the prevalence rate of PE falls somewhere between 25% and 40% in the global population of men across all age groups The aim of the study was to determine the prevalence of premature ejaculation in Benha City, to assess the impact of PE on quality of life of the male and to assess the effect of PE of the male on the sexual function of his partner (wife). Therefore this cross sectional study was done in outpatient clinic in Benha Educational Hospital.
