Abstract Aim: This study aimed to evaluate a new nanohybridOrmocer comparing it with a conventional Ormocer one regarding: degree of conversion, polymerization shrinkage and diametral tensile strength. Methods:A total number of sixty specimens (30 for each type of Ormocer) were prepared in this study according tothe manufacturer instructions. Ten specimens for each type of Ormocer were used in each test. Degree of conversion, Polymerization shrinkage and diametral tensile strength were measured. Results:The results showed that Ormocer exhibited insignificant increase in degree of conversion (68.32± 5.38) than that of nanohybridOrmocer (61.84± 3.97). nanohybridOrmocer showed significant decrease in polymerization shrinkage (4.03±.0.53) than that of traditional Ormocer (5.65±1.34). Traditional Ormocer demonstrated higher diametral tensile strength values (31.79± 5.01) than that of nanohybridOrmocer(20.43± 6.98). |
