Abstract Differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) is currently one of the fastest rising cancer diagnoses in the world. DTC has an excellent prognosis with appropriate treatment. The comprehensive management of DTC patients consists of surgery, radioactive Iodine-131 therapy and thyroxin suppressive therapy We aimed in this study to assess the effectiveness of low vs. high doses of RI in post-operative thyroid remnant ablation in patients with DTC We found that the studied two groups are equal regarding their ablation outcome. Successful complete ablation was reported in 15 out of 20 patients (75%)in the low dose group and in 19 out of 25 cases in the high dose group (76%)(P value = 1.000). |
