Abstract Breast Cancer is one of the most common diseases affecting females in the whole world. In the Middle East region, some patients still present in advanced or aggressive forms. There is as well an increasing incidence, which may be due to increased programs for detection, thanks to the efforts for awareness beside the growing use of mammography. The standard surgical approach for early breast cancer and localized ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) remains wide excision of the lesion followed by radiotherapy; this results in an overall survival rate equivalent to mastectomy. |
