Abstract This study included 21 patients with fresh femoral neck fractures presented to orthopedic department, Tanta University Hospital from June to December 2017. Thirteen were Males & eight Females with male to Female ratio 1.6: 1. The youngest patient was 21 years, while the oldest was 55 years with an average 32 years.They were evaluated clinically and radiologically, thirteen cases were Garden III, seven were Garden II and one was Garden IV.Seventeen cases had no associated injuries while four were with associated injuries. They were treated with Biplane double-supported screw fixation. Average time lapse before surgery was 24 h (range 12h-72h). The operation time was from 60:90 minutes, the blood loss during operation was 70: 150 ml. Average follow up was 5 mounts (ranged 3-9 months after surgery). 20 cases were united within 3-6 months after the operation while 1 case had non union after 9 months follow up.The final end results according to Harris score were; excellent in 7 cases (33.3%), good in 11 cases (52.4%), fair in 2 cases (9.5%) and poor in 1 case (4.8%). |
