Abstract This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of AFB1, which is one of the most toxic groups produced by different types of fungi such as Aspergillusflavus and Aspergillusparasiticus. Once water and food are contaminated with this fungus, there is a major imbalance in human and animal health in vital functions. There are a large number of aflatoxins such as B1, B2, M1, M2, G1 and G2 where aflatoxin B1 is one of the most dangerous types of human exposure. Here comes the role of propolis, which is one of the most natural anti-oxidants, including the characteristics of its value in the protection against oxidative stress, which results from the effects of AFB1.Experimental design: The total number of mice in the experiment was 48. Mice divided into 6 groups, each group with 8 mice:group 1: control group naïve mice, receiveddistilled water group 2: mice received propolis (0.2 mg/kg b.w)group 3: mice received olive oil given (0.5 mg/kg b.w).group 4: mice received AFB1 at a dose of (250 μg/ kg b.wt).group 5: mice administered with AFB1 (250 μg/ kg b.wt) then propolis(0.2 mg/kg b.w)group 6: mice received with propolis (0.2 mg/kg b.w), then AFB1 (0.25 μg/ kg b.wt).AFB1 and propolis were administered orally, 3 times a week for 2 consecutive weeks. |
