Abstract

Aim: A study aimed to identify the life’s style of children with maintenance hemodialysis. Design: Descriptive design. Setting: The study was conducted in Pediatric Hemodialysis Units at Children Hospital affiliated to Ain Shams University Hospitals and El-Menshawy hospital affiliated to Ministry Of Health in Tanta city. Subjects: The subjects of this study composed of 100children were maintenance hemodialysis and attended in the previously mentioned setting over a 6 months period, Tools, Pre-designed Questionnaire Sheet and Life Style Assessment Sheet to assess health and physical functioning activities of daily, Psychological and spiritual attitudes and responses, social and economic involvement and Family relationship. Result: More than half of the studied children were unsatisfied of their life style, namely, appetite, sleep pattern, personal hygiene, exercises, hopes, attitudes and spiritual attitudes responses toward their illness, self-steam, social involvement, family relationship and their activities. Conclusion: There were positive correlation between activities of daily living of the studied children and their life style with statistically significant differences. Also, there were statistically significant differences between socio demographic characteristics of the studied children, namely, age, residence, monthly income and their life style in addition. Recommendations: Emphasize the importance of assessing the life style of the children undergoing of hemodialysis.
