Abstract This study aimed to synthesize and evaluate some properties of experimental dental bonding agent after addition of ascorbic acid, silver nanoparticles and natural antibacterial extract regarding microtensile bond strength, degree of conversion, antibacterial activity, and chemical composition. The experimental unfilled adhesive was prepared by stirring Bis- GMA, HEMA, camphorquinon and ethyl 4-dimethyl-aminebenzoate. two ratios(1 wt% and 5 wt %) of ascorbic acid were dissolved in Tetrahydrofurane solvent and stirred with the experimental adhesive. Microtensile bond strength of the resultant adhesive was measured, and the adhesive with the highest value was modified with two ratios of antibacterial agents (nanosilver and Rumex Dentatus extract). Antibacterial activity, degree of conversion and chemical composition were examined. 1wt% ascorbic acid filled adhesive showed the highest value of microtensile bond strength (20.471 Mpa). modification with Rumex Dentatus caused significant reduction in microtensile bond strength and degree of conversion. Nanosilver modification results showed higher antibacterial activity. |
