Abstract Cesarean section is the most common surgical procedure for women in their childbearing years. Literature revealed that cesarean section associated with many complications, one of the most commonly reported complication was postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). It is defined as nausea and vomiting occurring within 24 hours after the operation. It has been reported that the incidence of cesarean section in Egypt was high 51.8% in 2015, while the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting in United State was 45% in 2015. This incidence increased as results of several risk factors, such as: individual factors, anesthetic factors, and surgical factors. |
