Abstract Background The percentage of renal patients suffering from a deficient serum vitamin D levels , ranges up to 70 - 80 % of renal patients in some parts of the globe , The objective of this study was to Determine the effect of supplementation of oral cholecalceferol on chronic Kidney Disease Mineral Bone Disease (CKD-MBD) Parameters ( iPTH concentrations ,calcium ,phosphorus , alkaline phosphtase ,etc ) in Patients with chronic Kidney Disease Stage 3 Results Three months supplementation of vit D 3 in our study has resulted in a significant decrease in mean ESR level IN DIABETIC patients , A significant reduction in parathormone hormone level and an increase in serum creatinine level with a reduction in e GFR In both diabetic and non diabetic groups after 3 months of daily 1000 iu of vit D3 . The mean ESR level was higher in diabetic group than non diabetic group and also show a significant reduction after3 months of daily 1000 iu of vit D3. A Positive significant correlation between urea level and Intact Parathyroid hormone and also a negative significant correlation existed between e GFR level and Intact Parathyroid hormone. Conclusions A significant reduction in parathormone hormone , mean ESR level and also an increase in serum creatinine level with a reduction in e GFR after 3 months of daily 1000 iu of vit D3 |
