Abstract

Recently, there is a sharp increase in the use of the synthetic food colorants, especially the commercial beverages that are widely consumed by children. Thus, more attention was focused on the physiological and toxico-pathological effects of these food coloring additives induced by supplementation of synthetic food coloring agents to rats. However, to our knowledge the researches on the physiological and molecular effects of the food colorants derivatives very scant. The SY is used in the commercial beverages and it is a synthetic yellow azo dye, manufactured from petroleum through a series of chemical reactions.
