Abstract The study was conducted in 80 one day old chick were divided into 4 groups . group (1) : 20 chicks were served as non infected non treated group were administered saline only . group (2) : 20 chicks of 25 days age were infected with isolate of Mycoplasma gallisepticum and served as infected non treated group. group (3) : 20 chicks were non infected and treated with 25mg/kg B.Wt. orally for 5 days .Group( 4) : 20 chicks of 25 days age were infected with isolate of Mycoplasma gallisepticum and administered 25mg/kg B.Wt. orally for 5 days. Blood samples were taken at the end of zero day, 10th day and 15th post- treatment in all groups. Two blood samples were taken from each group for haematological and biochemical studies. The treated chicks were sacrificed at zero , 10 days and 15 days post treatment .Specimens were collected from liver, kidney, heart and lung from each sacrificed tested chicks and fixed directly in formalin 10 % for histopathological examination . The effect of tiamulin (25 mg /kg body weight orally for five successive days) on biochemical results of healthy and experimentally infected chickens with Mycoplasama gallisepticum . showed a significant increase in serum total bilirubin , direct bilirubin ,indirect bilirubin ,AST , ALT , ALP , total protein and albumin, a significant decrease in uric acid and creatinine and return to its normal level at 15 days post treatment , a significant increase in lipid profile .the hematological changes were a significant increase in Hb, RBCs, WBCs, blood palettes, Na , K and Ca , there were a significant increase in Pco2 and TCO2 and HCO3 in experimentally infected chicken these value reduce and return to its normal level when treated with tiamulin after 15 day post treatment . Histopathological findings revealed that the effect of tiamulin (25 mg /kg body weight orally for five successive days) of healthy and experimentally infected chickens with Mycoplasama gallisepticum induced a mild to sever histopathological lesions . So ,the uses of tiamulin must be with restriction because of their adverse effects on liver and kidney functions as well as their side effect on hematological and some biochemical pictures. |
