Abstract Obesity is defined as an excessive accumulation of adipose tissue, which works as storage of excess energy. Despite massive efforts health care providers to influence weight through diet, physical activity, and lifestyle changes, they found that only effective long-term method for weight loss has been shown to be bariatric surgery. Bariatric surgical procedures are categorized into 2 main types; restrictive and malabsorptive. Some operations combine both restriction and malabsorption. Recently, the paths of single-incision surgery and bariatric surgery have intersected. The robot has the advantage of endowristed instruments, which can help oversew the stapled line. |
