Search presented by the student Rabab Abdel Tawab Fahmy Hamid entitled: Remaining palaces in the cities of Assiut Governorate in the
century (13 A.H / 19 A.D) and until the end of the first half century (14 A.H / 20 A.D) ”architectural and archaeological study” to get a master’s
degree in archeology, the search discusses palaces in four cities among Assiut cities, due to the containment of these cities on a large number of
palaces due to (13 A.H /19 A.D) and until the end of the first half century (14 A.H / 20 A.D), as well as architectural richness and decorative which
was characterized by these palaces while did not contain the rest cities of Assiut Governorate palaces architectural and a decorative distinctive
style.
I have introduced a search as follows:
Introduction: include the importance of the subject, the reasons
for his choice, and most previous studies, the difficulties of the study. Booting: deals with the administrative division of the Assiut Governorate.
Part 1: included descriptive study of the Palaces in the cities of Assiut Governorate
– Chapter I: included palaces in Sahel Salim city.
– Mohamed Mahmoud Pasha Palace.
– Tammam Hassan Palace.
– Salamlk Ibrahim Saleh.

PART TWO: analytical study of the architectural elements and decorative for palaces in the cities of Assiut Governorate.

The search is over to reach the results that are summarized in:
1- The study included the number twelve palaces were distributed the four cities among the cities of Assiut Governorate, it is of
Sahel Salim city, Abu Tig city, Quseya city, Dirout city, have not been studied before, as they are not registered in the Islamic and Coptic monuments counter.
2- The study illustrated biographies of others palaces owners historically known, not dealt with the references, The study also likely some shortcomings Assiut Governorate dates to the first half
of the twentieth century were a period explained.
3- The study showed multiple units and architectural elements making up the layouts of these palaces, such as the presence Salamlk to receive visitors from the men, and mosques for prayers, and rooms for servants stay, agents and offices, and chambers of stocks.
4- 4-The study confirmed that the entrances of palaces Assiut Governorate lead by terraces, and are accessible by ladders and
other double individual, because it is rising from the ground level of the park.
5- The study revealed the existence of private entrances for servants,
incamation the palace of Mohamed Mahmoud Pasha Palace in Sahel Salim city, Tammam Hassan Palace in Sahel Salim city,
Kotb Qureshi Palace in Dirout city.
6- The study revealed the diversity of raw materials used to cover the
shortcomings of Assiut Governorate floors, where the gray marble
used ”Alzerzory”, and black, and cover the pavement in closets floors and rooms have balconies, also used stone tiles, also used wooden floors.
7- The study confirmed the rich architectural and decorative, which was characterized by palaces in the cities of Assiut Governorate t,
where they are no less important than palaces built by the princes and pashas in the cities of Cairo and Alexandria in the nineteenth century.
