Abstract This work was planned to determine the prevalence of trypanosomiasis in camels in Sharkia province (by Giemsa stained blood smear, mouse inoculation test, formol gel agglutination test, ELISA test and PCR technique), identify possible risk factors related to trypanosomiasis in camels, sequencing of the DNA of T. evansi isolates from Egyptian and imported camels and determine blood glucose level and hematological picture in camels naturally infected camels with trypanosomiasis. 2) The present study was conducted on a total of 550 camels (Camelus dromedarius) of both sexes and with different ages during the period from April 2013 to March 2010, 330 camels were obtained from different localities at Sharkia province and 220 camels were investigated during slaughtering at Belbais and Zagazig abattoirs. |
