Abstract

The technique of tubularized incised plate urethroplasty (TIP) repair for distal hypospadias become the most popular technique because it is simple, easily applicable and produces a good cosmetic results that arenot always achievable with other techniques of hypospadias repair. But unfortunately, several studies reported that several complications such as meatal stenosis and/or neourethral stricture and the need for regular urethral dilatation when the glans is hypoplastic and/or the urethral groove is narrow and insufficiently deep. Many studies demonstrated high success rate and low complication rate with the combination of Snodgrass method and DIGU and used dorsal flaps for repair of hypospadias. Irrespective of patients’ age, location of hypospadias, history of previously failed surgery, and presence or absence of the prepuce. In our study, we applied the Snodgraft technique by using inner preputial graft in primary distal hypospadias repair. This study will be conducted to study the outcomes of TIP versus Snodgraft. Based on our results Snodgrass and Snodgraft technique for primary distal hypospadias repair have similar outcome. With a significant shorter operative time, Snodgrass repair remains the first choice for primary distal hypospadias repair.
