Abstract The current study aimed to investigate the effect of some linguistic activities based on rhymes to develop some creative writing skills of the primary stage pupils. To verify the effect of the proposed course, a group of forty pupils in primary five were the participants of this study. The researcher designed two equivalent versions of the EFL Creative Writing (CR) Test to be used as a pre and a post test, a scoring rubric to be used for the grading of the pupils` writing, an enrichment EFL Creative Writing Course, a teacher`s guide, and some reflective inventories. After the administration of the creative writing test to the study group, the adjusted means for the general creative writing ability were calculated. Findings revealed that the rhymes (R) were effective on developing the pupils` creative writing abilities. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of the obtained data showed that students generally are willing to write creatively. Keywords: Creative Writing (CR), Rhymes (R). |
