Abstract
The study presented the design of urban facades as an effective means to reduce the proplem of environment noise. exteriror buildings facades as a part of urban areas components; play an important role in noise progrations. smooth exterior facades cause reflecting noise in specular manner. however the main type of refelections on exterior facades is scattering, because of its irregularities like (balconise-windows-preotrsions-etc.).
the study aims to reduce external noise levels in the urban environment by simulating the effect of formation’s pattern of the most common residential facades in rgypt-which has rhythmic protrusions and recesses-on the relative sound pressure levels in free field in an urban street.
