Abstract

The current study was carried out to compare the efficacy of nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite with or withoutchitosan versus microcrystalline hydroxyapatite clinically and radiographically in the treatment of angular intrabony defects in patients with advanced chronic periodontitis. Also the probable osteoinductive property of the above mentioned materials was histopathologically and histomorphometrically evaluated in experimentally created bony defects in the rabbit’s femurs.
