Abstract The Effectiveness of a Program Based on the Pronunciation Skills of the English Language on Developing Some Oral Communication Skills for the Iraqi Students at the University Levels Supervisors.Prof. Dr. Magdy Mahdi Ali Prof. Mohammed Jasim Betti Dr.zakaria kamal Elssiefy By Aoda Kadhim Abid Al-Khafaji The present study aimed at showing the ability of the university learners in Iraq to recognize and to produce the pronunciation process of the English words through the use of a suggested program based on the pronunciation skills of the English language. The study also aimed oral communication skills . The quasi-experimental research design was used. The participants of the study were 70 English majors students from the University of Thi-Qar, College of Education in Iraq . The students were randomly divided into two groups: experimental group and control group. Instruments of the study are constructed of the following: Making a theoretical survey in pronunciation and oral communication skills, designing a program for developing the communication skills for the Iraq EFL learners and measuring the degree of progress . The qualitative results revealed that the participants of the experimental group reacted positively to the pronunciation activities skills, which means that the program based on the pronunciation skills is effective and instrumental in developing third level at the university in pronunciation skills. The results of the study showed that there is a statistically significant difference in the pronunciation skills between the mean scores of the control group and experimental group, which means that the program based on the pronunciation skills of the English language is effective in developing oral communication skills for the EFL Iraqi learners.
