Abstract Objectives : The low productivity of saline water irrigation is the main factor limiting the expansion of their use in agriculture. For this purpose, a pot experiment was conducted outdoor at the Experimental Styrene house of the Faculty of Agriculture, Mansoura University aiming to evaluate the protective effect of humic acid and compost extract (water, EDTA or KOH) application on lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) and onion (Allium cepa L.) grown under salinity stress in a sandy soil. Methods & Results : The used experimental design was split plot design, main plots were irrigation treatments which included two quality types. Conclusion: it is recommended to add humic acid as a soil application at concentration of 200 mg kg-1 and EDTA-extracted compost as a foliar application to plants grown under salinity conditions as a complementary approach. |
