Abstract Emulsion between crude oil and formation water is a widely common problems in the petroleum industry and is usually resolved using chemical additives called emulsion breakers . One of the problems facing all researchers while studying the phase behavior for crude oil is separation of the petroleum emulsion from the sample of the study because it requires obtaining crude oil at least 70% free from the water almost even be able to hold such studies under reservoir conditions ( pressure, volume and temperature) and this work is an attempt to solve this problems . the water- in- crude-oil emulsions are formed during the production of crude oil, which is often accompanied with water. The emulsions have stability ranging from a few minutes to years , depending upon the nature of crude oil and extent of water .there are two kinds of petroleum emulsions, water in oil (w/o) and oil in water (o/w) and the crude petroleum emulsion depends on presence of protective and strong |
