Abstract The aim of the present study was directed to evaluate sealant retention and caries status of the resin based and glass ionomer fissure sealants materials in the first permanent molars of children clinically. Also, this study evaluated the shear bond strength of both fissure sealants to enamel. In the clinical study: 40 healthy children aged from (6-10) years were selected from the outpatient Clinic of the Pedodontic Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Tanta University. A split-mouth design was used in which the fissure sealants were placed in the two first upper or lower permanent molars. The occlusal surfaces of both first permanent molars were flushed with water spray to remove any traces. Rubber dam was applied .80 molars were divided into two groups. |
