Abstract This study included 68 patients with ptosis 18 patients (26.5%) had bilateral ptosis and 50 patients (73.5%) had unilateral ptosis (68 eyes). The average age at the time of presentation was 15.3 ± 16.9 years (range 3 months to 70 years). 43 patients (63.2 %) were males and 25 patients (36.8 %) were females. 73 eyes (84.88%) were operated on and for 13 eyes (15.12%) no operation was done. 69 eyes (80.2%) had history of ptosis since birth (congenital) and 17 eyes (19.8) reported later onsets (acquired). Mean age of congenital ptosis was 9.5±6.9 year (range from 3month to 25 years). Mean age of acquired ptosis 50 year (range from 23years to 70 years). |
