Abstract
The present study was performed to evaluate the role of visfatin on diabetic, diabetic nephropathy and obese rats. The present work was carried on (40) albino male rats, the animals were categorized into 4 groups 10 rats each: Group I (control group): injected with saline IP at a dose of 10 ml/kg. Group II (Diabetic group):diabetes was induced by multiple low doses of STZ injected IP at a dose of 40mg/kg for 5 consecutive days. Group III (Diabetic nephropathy group):this group injected with STZ at dose of 125 mg/kg/day IP for twoconsecutive days nephropathy developed within 4 weeks. Group IV (Obese group):Obesity induced in these rats by feeding a high fat diet for 4 weeks at the end of fatting period, their body weights ranged between 270-320g.
