Abstract Dorsal nasal augmentation plays an important role in cosmetic rhinoplasties, post-traumatic and congenital nasal reconstruction. The goal is to achieve an aesthetically pleasing result while creating facial harmony. There are many different implantable materials available, both autologous and non-autologous.Diced cartilage grafts are becoming commonplace in rhinoplasty. We used diced cartilage wrapped with autogenous fascia and compared this graft to diced cartilage only and solid cartilage inserted directly without dicing. Our experimental study demonstrates that the chondrocyte regeneration, collagen, elastic fibers content and Proteoglycan in matrix of the autogenous fascia group were significantly superior to that of the diced cartilage alone group and better than solid cartilage group. |
