Abstract

Hyperlipidemia is a condition excess of fatty substances called lipids, largely cholesterol and triglycerides, in the blood. It is also called hyperlipoproteinemia because these fatty substances travel in the blood attached to proteins. This is the only way that these fatty substances can remain dissolved while in circulation. The most recent cholesterol management guidelines.American heart association defined hyperlipidemia is a high level of fats in the blood. These fats, called lipids include cholesterol and triglycerides. There are different types of hyperlipidemia depending on which lipid levels are high in the blood. This study aimed to investigate the effect of some oat’s extracts on the hyperlipidemic rats fed on high lipid content diets. Oats extract: Oats will pulverize separately using a blender and sieved through 355 μm mesh. Different concentrations of oats were prepared by stirring a measured amount of each powder in de-ionized water at 70°C for 30 minutes. The suspensions were then centrifuged in a centrifuge at 10,000 rpm for 30 minutes. The clear viscous supernatant solutions, containing extracted beta- glucans, were collected and used at the level of 200 and 400 ml/kg b.w which contained 15% oat bran and 7% oatmeal dry weight β- glucan. Twenty five adult females albino rats, weighting 200 ± 5 g were divided into five groups each with five rats.
