Abstract Prominent ears is a very common problem with an incidence of 5% in population. Over 200 techniques have been described for the surgical correction of prominent ears, suggesting that no single “best” technique exists and that techniques and modifications will continue to evolve . In our study we compared 2 well known techniques for otoplasty on 20 patients divided in 2 groups. We followed up the patients and compared the results with those mentioned in the literature. The results were highly satisfactory to the patients and to the surgeon in cartilage scoring technique , and relatively less satisfactory results to the patients and surgeons in cartilage excision technique. |
