Abstract

In this study 100 samples (fresh farmed Tilapia nilotica) were examined microbiologically by detection of Total Bacterial Count, then these samples were examined chemically for detection of such as (Total Volatile Basic Nitrogen, Thiobarbituric acid and Histamine value) and finally these samples were undergone freshness and degree of spoilage through estimation of some indicators to microbiological assay for screening of antimicrobial residues, then quantitative and qualitative detection of the most suspected antibiotic residues (Oxytetracyclin and Ciprofloxacin) had been done by using HPLC. Statical analysis was done to estimate the accepted & rejected samples in relation to the legislation of the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality and the legislation of the European Union, in addition to studying the relation between the farmed fish quality and drug residues.
