This thesis investigates the U.S political strategy and the diplomatic strategy. In due course, the study discusses and analyzes the American political direction during George Bush’s administration 2000-2008, and the Obama Administration 2008-2014. Both included integration, confrontation and a mix of the two options as a compromise between integration and confrontation with these movements. The two case studies are Muslim Brotherhood and its political wing the Justice and Freedom party, and Aldaawa Alsalafia and its political wing Alnour party in Egypt.
The study discussed the principles of the American strategic thought after the cold war, and the visions of the intellectual schools inside the American Think Tanks. It’s clear that there are three visions, integration, confrontation and mix of two visions as a compromise between integration and confrontation with these movements. Moreover the Muslim Brotherhood and Aldaawa Alsalafia point of view of the political issues such as democracy, civil state..etc, and the social issues like women and christians rights..etc. as well as their view of the U.S, Israel and Camp David Accord were discussed.
The study identified the relevant concepts of its subject, and utilized the constructive approach and the religion sociological approach to analyze and understand the development of political Islamic movements in Egypt because of the correlation of this phenomenon with the cultural social structure of the Egyptian society. This reflects the special development of these movements since the beginning.
The study presented two models to show the intersection between religion and politics. In the American model the intersection is obvious in both Decision Making Bodies and Think Tanks. On the other hand, the Egyptian model is different in political practice, although it’s clear that religion is the centerpiece of life in Egypt. The Islamic movements exploited these circumstances to combine between religion and politics.
