This study aims at monitoring the historical depth of the Syrian-Turkish relationships since Syria’s independence from the Ottoman Empire as well as the Turkish positions of the independence of Syria during the military coups period in Syria. It also aims at following the Hashemite activities in Syria and its impact on the Turkish-Syrian relationships and the detection of the Western role and its impact on relationships between the two countries, especially in the light of the West’s defense policy of alliances of for the Middle East and the Baghdad Pact Organization and project Eisenhower. In addition to, if studies the impact of unitary Arab projects of the League of Arab States and the Fertile Crescent Greater Syria Syrian-Egyptian unity on the nature of relationships between the two countries revealing the dimensions of regional and international balances on the background Turkish-Syrian relationships. selection of the study starts in 1943, because this year has witnessed the independence of Syria and the countries to recognition of this independence, it ends in 1958, a year which saw the declaration of the unity between Egypt and Syria, ”United Arab Republic” and the consequent tension in the relationships between Turkey and Syria, especially after what Turkey has regarded this event as representing a direct threat to it and its existence. The current study is divided into an introduction , introduction the development of five chapters and a conclusion : The Turkish-Syrian relationships, before Syria’s independence in 1918 - 1943” It includes the establishment of the Kingdom of Al Faisalabad in Syria and the reactions in created on that the forces of French colonialism, it includes also to the separation of Turkey from the Islamic entity, the announcement of the end of the Caliphate in Istanbul, and the impact of this the Arab-Turkish relationships, if also addresses the great Syrian Revolution against the forces of French colonialism, as well as the Turkish reactions towards the treaty of 1936 between Syria and France, and how it was used by Turkey in looting the brigade Iskenderun. The first chapter ”Turkey and the independence of Syria.” it includes Turkey’s position on the defeat of the French in World War II, and the Declaration of the Vichy government which was loyal to the Germans in Syria, it also includes the attack launched by a Britain and the Free French Forces on Syria and setting rid of the Vichy government in Syria, and the declaration of the independence of Syria from the Mandate, and the effect of Turkey, it addresses the issue of the effects this left on of French and English troops on the Security Council, then moves to the Turkish recognition of the independence of Syria and the exchange of diplomatic relationships with it. Chapter two ”Turkey and military coups in Syria.” Departure of this chapter, includes the coup of Hosni - the leader what positive effects it left on the Turkish-Syrian relationships, then it also Sami El-Henawi coup and the position of Turkey from this coup and its regret at the departure of the leader, It also handles Adib El-Shishakli first coup in December 19, 1949, during which the Turkish and Syrian relationships were seed, then the second coup in November 29, 1951 came, leading to the deterioration in relationships between the two countries following the demand of El-Shishakli restore the banner of Iskenderun. Chapter three: entitled ”The Syrian-Turkish relationships within the system of alliances Policy” It includes NATO after Turkey has joined it and this has affected on the Turkish-Syrian relationships, it also includes the project of defense in Middle the position of Syria and the impact from it as well as of this on the relationship between the two countries. This chapter deals with the Baghdad Pact alliance, whose most important objective was for realizing dealing with the Western interests in serer and Turkey in particular, through the containment of Communist influence in the Middle East.This project highlights the extent of the Turkish Western pressure on Syria and the attempts of both Egypt and Saudi Arabia to prevent Syria from joining, which at the end resulted in the emergence of two rival camps, one led by Egypt and Saudi Arabia one hand, and the other led by Turkey and Iraq on the other hand. It includes the emergence of Eisenhower principle, which led to tension in the Syrian - Turkish relationships after the first tended to reject the project and declared not Continuing in that path ”Western direction”. Chapter four entitled ”Turkey and Arab unity projects with Syria” : It includes a set of unitary enterprises that have occurred in that period, starting from the project of the Arab League and the inclusion of Syria in that League and the position of Turkey from this League, Then comes after the project Great Syria and the Fertile Crescent of the Hashemite projects and efforts made by the family for the inclusion of Syria in these projects and Turkey’s position opposing the establishment of such a unitary enterprise, the chapter includes also the Syrian-Egyptian unity in 1958, which led to tension in the Turkish-Syrian relationships especially after the first has realized that this unit is posing a direct threat to it and its interests in the region. Chapter five entitled ”In decisive ”suspended” issues in the Turkish – Syrian relationships .” It includes the problem Brigade Iskenderun, the issue that pintails a compromise that never Lappers, betweenthe two countries . It includes the Kurdish problem and the problem of the Armenians and the impact of this on relationships between the two countries. It also includes the Cyprus problem and Syria position towards it is considered as avenging on Turkey and its ever siding policy with the west and then includes the water problem and the reason is Turkey control over the river springs.
