Abstract
hse work a dotatiea stratigraphical and goochenioal studies of the Bocene forations and vivalvian shells exposed at Gebel Uokattan, Cairo. wenty four rock samples representing the Rocene strabignaphie section exposed in the studied fazea were geochasically enalysed, In addition, one hundred and twenty four woll presezved bivalvian shells vere selected and also subjected to geochentcal study for their We lin and Sr contents. ‘The studied shells represent twonty six apecies belonging to fourteen geneze. ‘The chendoal composition of the studied Eocene sholis end rocks revealed thet the snounts of i and imonease from Middle to Upper Eocene, on the other hand the anount of decreases tron usaate to Upper Eocene A trial waa made to classify the studied Zanilies ecoonding to their chemical composition as follons.
