Abstract

This study aimed to : The main objectives of this study was to date mine the effect of phosphorus fertilizer levels and fruit thinning treatments as well as their interaction on vegetative growth, total chlorophyll content, fruit yield and squash, seed yield and its component of summer squash.
Methods & Results : This study was carried at the experimental farm of Sakha Horticulture Research Station during summer seasons of 2012 and 2013 for seed production of Eskandarani cv. As avesult of phosphorus fertilizer levels (20,40,60 and 80 kg/fed. P2o5) and fruit thinning treatments (control, thinning the first fruit, all fruit except first and second one and thinning the first and second fruits) as well as the interaction. The treatments were randomly arranged using a split plot design.
The obtained results are as follows : it was found that summer squash plants fertilized with 80 kg/fed. P2O5 as phosphorus fertilizer level and thinning the first and second fruit treatments gave balanced vegetative growth parameters and produced high seed yield under the conditions of this study.Conclusion : 80 kg / fed. P2O5 and thinning the first and second fruits gave the best balanced vegetative growth parameters, fruit yield and its component and seed yield and it quality.
