Abstract Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both (American Diabetes Association, 2009). Gestational diabetes: is when pregnant women, who had never had diabetes before, has a high blood glucose level during pregnancy.
