with sole maternal custody or shifting to sole paternal custody on future
anxiety and the meaning of life among a sample of teenagers.
The total sample of the study included 60 male and female teenagers,
equally divided into two groups, one for intact family individuals and the
other for those in custody preference issue.
The current study referred to a range of Psychometric tools such as
Future Anxiety Scale، Meaning of life Scale . study also referred to a range
of clinical tools such as Basic information form، Study case form ، Sax test،
Thematic Apperception Test (T.A.T) .
Results of Psychometric study Statistical Indicative differences in
sample score averages on a future anxiety scale as per parental conflict
variable (intact family and custody preference issue teenagers) have been
shown in the direction of teenagers of custody preference issue. Statistical
Indicative differences in sample score averages on the meaning of life scale,
except for after (taking responsibility), as per family conflict variable (intact
family and custody preference issue) have been shown in the direction of
intact family teenagers. Negative and statistical indicative correlation
between the two groups` scores on future anxiety and the meaning of life
scales has been shown. Absence of any indicative statistical difference
between the sample scores as per the gender variable (male-female) among
teenagers of custody preference issue and on future anxiety scale and on the
meaning of life scale
The clinical study has proved the clinical hypothesis that there is
underlying casual relation between the parental conflict over the custody and
the children’s future anxiety and meaning of life, involving all related
psychological dynamics. The responses of the examined teenagers have
confirmed this relation through clinical interviews, sax and T.A.T tests. It
has also been shown that there are differences in terms of psychological
structure, along with other individual and environmental factors that lie
behind future anxiety and meaningless of life.
