Introduction :
Many of researchers agreed to describe this age as age of anxiety , where the anxiety became title for many psychological studies .
Secondary stage is considered from the stages that contribute in formation the future of the student as application with university and getting suitable job , the student passes with more studical problems such as test anxiety .
Problem of the study :
The researcher can conceptualize the study problem in the following question :
To what extend does the Reality Therapy have a role in reducing Test Anxiety among Secondary School Certificate Students ?
Aim of the study :
The current study aim to test the effectiveness of a program that uses the reality therapy in reducing test anxiety among a sample secondary school certificate students .
Importance of the study :
The importance of the study can be outlined on the following aspects :
1 – Making a diagnostic tool for identifying adolescents who suffer from test anxiety.
2 – Designing a counseling reality program in reducing test anxiety among adolescents .
3 – The study will help in framing some counseling applications that help in reducing test anxiety among adolescents . this in turn will help them to be adjusted academically .
Hypotheses of the study :
1-There are statistical significant differences among means ranks of the experimental group ( male – female ) and means ranks of the control group ( male – female ) on the dimensions of test anxiety scale Physical – Cognitive – Behavior - Emotion and the whole score for sake of Experimental group .
2-There are statistical significant differences among means ranks of the experimental group ( male – female ) in pre – testing and post – testing on the dimensions of test anxiety scale Physical – Cognitive – Behavior - Emotion and the whole score for sake of post – testing .

3 - There are no statistical significant differences among means ranks of the experimental ( male – female ) after the application of the counseling program and their means ranks after one month from follow-up on the dimensions of test anxiety scale Physical – Cognitive – Behavior - Emotion and the whole score of test anxiety scale .
Methodology :
The experimental method is employed in this study .
Sample of the study :
The sample of the study consists of 40 ( male & female ) adolescents who suffer from test anxiety . this sample is divided into four groups :
- Two Experimental groups ( 10 male & 10 female ) adolescents .
- Two Control groups ( 10 male & 10 female ) adolescents .
Tools of the study :
1 – Verbal Intelligence test for secondary and university stage
( prepared by / Gaber Abd El hamid Gaber & Mahmoud Ahmed Omar 1993 ) .
2 – Family socioeconomic level scale ( prepared by / Abd El Aziz El Shakhs , 2006 ) .
3 – The Test Anxiety scale among Secondary School Certificate Students
( prepared by the researcher ) .
4 – The counseling program applying the reality therapy technique
( prepared by the researcher ) .
Statistical Techniques :
The researcher used the following statistical techniques for analysis the data statistically and design the test anxiety scale and investigating the validity of the study hypotheses as follow :
1 – Coefficient of Person correlation method for investigating the internal consistency for accounting validity of the test anxiety scale for Secondary School Certificate Students .
2 – T ( test ) for investigating the comparison of extreme groups validity of test anxiety scale for Secondary School Certificate Students .
3 – Spearman , Brown method for accounting stability by Split Half way of the test anxiety scale of Secondary School Certificate Students .
4 – Alpha Cronpakh method for accounting the stability of the test anxiety scale of Secondary School Certificate Students.

5 – Mann – Whitney test for the matching the sample of the study in intelligence and Family socio-economic level and scores of the
( Cognitive – Physical – Behavioral – Emotional ) whole score of the test anxiety scale .
6 – Wilcoxon test to test the significance of mean score difference in the related groups .
7 – Mann – Whitney test to test the significance of mean score difference in the independent groups .
The results of the study :
The results were reported and discussed as follows :
- There are statistical significant differences among means ranks of the experimental group in the post test compared to their means ranks of control group on the dimensions of test anxiety scale Physical – Cognitive – Behavior - Emotion and the whole score for sake of Experimental group which indicate the improvement of the Experimental group in the counseling program.
- There are statistical significant differences among means ranks of the experimental group in the post test compared to their means ranks in the pre test on the dimensions of test anxiety scale Physical – Cognitive – Behavior - Emotion and the whole score which indicate the improvement of the Experimental group in the counseling program.
- There are no statistical significant differences among means ranks of the experimental group in the post test and their means ranks in the follow up test on the dimensions of test anxiety scale Physical – Cognitive – Behavior - Emotion and the whole score of test anxiety indicate the continuing effect of the counseling program.
Conclusion :
The results of the study indicate that the counseling program based on reality therapy technique was effective in reducing test anxiety among Secondary School Certificate Students .
