Abstract To date there is no biochemical marker predictive of disease severity in children with bronchiolitis in previous studies .The results of the present study proved that the nasal wash LDH is a useful inexpensive simple marker to predict disease severity and the need for prolonged oxygen therapy and hospitalization days in infants with viral bronchiolitis with respect to its easy collection and low risk of injury to the infants. Multiple samples should be taken before and after improvement for follow up. Isolation of causative organism of bronchiolitis by microbiological studies. Identification the relation between the causative organism of bronchiolitis and level of LDH in nasal wash. |
