المستخلص This thesis is divided into six chapters, preceded by an introduction, and followed by a conclusion. The introduction includes the area of the study, its features, and the objectives of the study, the queries of the study, its sources, and the methods used in the study and finally the contents of the study. Chapter one: this chapter deals with the general environmental features of El - Dakhla Depression it was divided into two sections. The first section covers the natural environmental features of El - Dakhla Depression for example the astronomical and geographical location, the geological formations, the Relief characteristics, and the properties of the surface. In the second section of this chapter the human and environmental features were discussed which include: the evolution of the population size, rates of growth during the period (١٩٤٧-٢٠١١), the geographical distribution of the population, and population characteristics (the age structures, sex composition, and the educational status) as well as patterns of urbanization. Chapter two: this chapter deals with the factors affecting the climate of El - Dakhla Depression through a combination of factors such as astronomical location, Keep away from the effects of maritime, Relief, the distributions of the atmospheric pressure, air masses and fronts, and jet streams. Chapter three: this chapter deals with the geographical analysis of the characteristics of the elements of the climate of El – Dakhla Depression, there is an analytical study the solar radiation and air temperature(maximum temperature, minimum temperature, daily temperature) and the rates of atmospheric pressure, wind direction and speed, the rising air, the relative rates of humidity, evaporation, and finally a study of the amount of rain in the study area. Chapter four: this chapter entitled the climate impact on some aspects of the natural environment in El – Dakhla Depression; the chapter studied a range of aspects. For example the effect of the wind on directing some of natural phenomenon such as the effect of the wind on the rates of movement of sand dunes and its direction. In addition to the study of the dangers of sand movements on the roads. This side discussed also the impact of the wind on the phenomenon of yardangs through its geographical distribution, environmental conditions favorable to the emergence of the climate and the formation of yardangs and the study of the direction of the yardangs, the second aspect dealt with the impact of the climate on the occurrence of mechanical weathering and salt weathering. Chapter five: this chapter studied the Impact of the climate on the agricultural environment in the El – Dakhla Depression, as represented in the study of the relationship between the elements of the climate and the productivity of some agricultural crops, as well as addressing the impact of climate on Evapotranspiration (ETo), as well as the impact of climate on water consumption of agricultural crops. This chapter discussed also the dangers of climate on agriculture in El – Dakhla Depression Such as heat and cold waves and their impact on cultivated plants, as well as drought, and sand dunes encroachment on Agricultural areas.Chapter six: this chapter was entitled the impact of the climate on human comfort and tourist activity in El – Dakhla Depression, The researcher applied some clues vital to determine the extent of human comfort or lack of comfort under these climatic conditions, as well as the care of this chapter to study the relationship between climate and tourism through quantitative analysis to measure the strength of this relationship. The researcher used some indicators to measure this relationship, including, index cooling power, tourism climate index, Terjung, ١٩٦٦. Conclusion: the conclusion summarized the most important scientific results derived from the study and made some recommendations and proposals that may contribute to the sustainable development of El –Dakhla Depression |
