Abstract

These studies prove the benefit of PCI in the treatment of IMR in patients with CAD.
This study also demonstrates the benefit of PCI on LV systolic function.
from this study we concluded that CTFC can be used as a simple, objective, and reproducible predictor for the clinical outcome.
In view of the present finding, we support the use of PCI as a therapy in patients having IMR with obstructive CAD especially patient with LAD & RCA lesions with grade II IMR.
Our study suggest that the severity of IMR not related to special coronary artery disease and not only the inferior wall ischemia can induce significant IMR but also the anterior , lateral and posterior wall share in such cases , giving the conclusion that the more segment affected the more severity of IMR.
We showed in our study that successful mechanical reperfusion using percutenoues coronary intervention may provide a benefit by reducing the incidence and severity of IMR in patients with CAD as successful reperfusion prevents the development of MR by limiting the infarct size, attenuating and preventing infarct expansion and dyskinesia especially in area of myocardium supporting the papillary muscles.
