Abstract

Aphid species Rhopalosiphium padi, R. maidis, Sitobion avenae, Schizaphis graminum, Metopolophium dirhodum and Diuraphis noxia, were recorded as abundant insect pests infesting wheat plants, at Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. There were other insect pests such as Empoasca spp., Unkanodes sp., Limothrips cerealium, Thrips tabaci, Nezara viridula and Eysracoris inconspicuous. There were predators associated those insect pests such as Coccinella undecimpunctata, Rhyzobius litura, chrysoperla cornea, Metsyrphus corollae and Ischnura evansi. Sweep net was the best methods to indicate the wheat insects. The appearance of wheat insects based on the temperature and relative humidity, R. padi and R. maidis appeared along the season, S. avenae appeared by mid- December feeding on the leaves of wheat plants then transmitted to the ears beginning of the milky-ripe stage, S. graminum; M. dirhodum and Thrips, L. cerealium and T. tabaci appeared synchronized with the warm temperatures by end February. While, the appearance of D. noxia synchronized with cold temperature during December and January. The edges of fields received to most insect pests to infesting wheat plants. S. avenae is favourable specie to rear C. undecimpunctata on. Where, the development period of C. undecimpunctata was completed in a short time with highly fecundity. So, we can form economic artificial diet as S. avenae chemical compounds to feed this predator.
