Abstract

The aim of present study was to evaluate the clinical and radiographical outcome of Symphyseal bone ring graft with immediate dental implant placement in fresh extraction socket.
Patients and Methods: ten patient were selected with fresh defective extraction socket. Twelve defective sockets were prepared using trephine bur, bone rings were harvested from symphyseal area by larger trephine bur and a central osteotomy for implant placement was done before their removal. The bone rings then remove and snugly fitted in prepared socket with simultaneous implants placement in one stage procedure and then evaluated clinically and radiographically using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT).
Result: no significant amount of crestal bone loss (mean of crestal bone resorption = 0.12mm), during follow-up period (six months), no implant failure was recorded, resulting in 100% implant survival. Conclusion: augmentation of defective socket by bone ring technique with simultaneous implant placement proved to be reliable with high rate of success.
